- Scientist-D: Master's Degree from recognized University/institute in disciplines specified in Schedule I; OR Bachelor's Degree (minimum four-year degree course) from recognized University/institute in disciplines specified in Schedule II
- Scientist-C: Master's Degree from recognized University/institute in disciplines specified in Schedule I; OR Bachelor's Degree (minimum four-year degree course) from recognized University/institute in disciplines specified in Schedule II
- Scientist-C: Shall not exceed 35 Years
- Scientist-D: Shall not exceed 40 Years
- Age relaxation applicable as per rules
